Duties and Responsibilities of the Krabi Highway District
The Krabi Highway District has the following powers and duties:
(1) Planning highway maintenance work, highway safety work, and small-scale construction projects.
(2) Surveying, inspecting, and preparing plans and information regarding material sources, road works, and initial road conditions.
(3) Carrying out highway maintenance work, safety work, and small-scale construction projects.
(4) Maintaining, preventing, adjusting, and lightly repairing machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment for highway construction and maintenance work under its responsibility.
(5) Conducting public participation activities in areas with highway construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects.
(6) Inspecting, monitoring, and enforcing highway laws as assigned.
(7) Handling legal permits under highway laws as assigned.
(8) Operating mobile vehicle weighing stations.
(9) Supporting and cooperating with the province and other agencies.
(10) Cooperating with or supporting the operations of other relevant agencies or as assigned.
General Administration Division
has the following powers and duties:
(1) Responsible for document management, finance and accounting, procurement and contracts, information technology, and public relations. and public participation in the area.
(2) Collect, monitor, prepare reports and provide various information.
(3) Contact and coordinate with relevant agencies.
Engineering Division
Has the following powers and duties:
(1) Prepare strategic plans and integrate various plans of the Highway District.
(2) Study and analyze various data to plan and prioritize highway development, highway maintenance, safety work and construction projects.
(3) Prepare operational plans for highway development, highway maintenance, safety work and construction projects.
(4) Inspect and prepare routine maintenance plans and vehicle plans.
(5) Expedite, monitor, and evaluate progress reports of projects to ensure they are in line with the plan and to improve planning, including proposing solutions to various problems.
(6) Prepare data on road material sources and preliminary road conditions.
(7) Implement safety work related to traffic signals and lighting according to the criteria set by the Department, and repair lighting and related equipment in office buildings and residential buildings.
(8) Implement safety work related to the installation of signs and traffic markings according to the criteria set by the Department.
(9) Control and maintain signs, traffic markings and other safety equipment. To maintain them in an efficient working condition.
(10) Repair buildings, offices, residences, and related equipment.
(11) Improve and maintain the landscape in the area of responsibility of the Highway District.
(12) Manage the use of machinery, including repair and maintenance, in accordance with the mission of the Highway District.
(13) Support the mission of the Highway Section.
(14) Expedite, monitor, and evaluate results according to the plan.
Operations Division
Has the following powers and duties:
(1) Plan and implement control of road maintenance operations to ensure roads are in good condition, convenient, and safe for traffic.
(2) Plan and control the efficient and appropriate use of machinery, vehicles, tools, and equipment in road work.
(3) Control construction work, road maintenance work, and safety work to comply with contracts, standards, and specifications.
(4) Inspect, monitor, and enforce highway laws and conduct vehicle weighing.
(5) Carry out safety measures in the highway area.
(6) Control and monitor the highway area, mark the highway boundary, and demarcate reserved land outside the highway area. Including the prevention of encroachment on highway areas.
(7) Inspect, control, supervise, and enforce highway laws as assigned.
(8) Inspect and control any permit applications.
(9) Report work results and statistics as assigned, as well as report floods, accidents, and emergencies occurring on highways.
(10) Implement projects as assigned.
(11) Integrate work with relevant agencies in the area.
(12) Expedite, follow up on problem solving, and report work results.
(13) Offer opinions and report facts regarding any operations in highway areas to relevant agencies.
Senior Highway Section
has the following powers and duties:
(1) Survey the condition of road sections and highway alignments under their responsibility to provide information for the preparation of highway maintenance plans, highway safety work, and construction projects in the area.
(2) Manage, control, supervise, and monitor routes with very high traffic volume and areas with special characteristics.
(3) Plan and implement control of road maintenance work, safety work, and construction work to ensure that road sections are in condition according to the standards and specifications of the Department of Highways.
